Ingredients

Scale

Sandwich Base

  • 4 slices Bread (Gluten-free options are available)
  • 4 tablespoons Peanut Butter (Can substitute with almond or sunflower butter)
  • 4 tablespoons Strawberry Jelly (Can substitute with lingonberry jelly)

Decorations

  • 12 pieces Pretzel Sticks (Gluten-free pretzel options are available)
  • 8 pieces Candy Eyes (Can substitute with small chocolate chips)

Instructions

  1. Cut Bread Circles: Using a round biscuit cutter, cut out circles from each slice of bread. These will form the base of your Spooky Spider Sandwiches.
  2. Spread Peanut Butter: Spread a generous layer of peanut butter on half of the bread circles to serve as one side of the sandwich.
  3. Spread Jelly: On the remaining bread circles, spread an even layer of strawberry jelly to complement the peanut butter.
  4. Assemble Sandwiches: Place the peanut butter-covered bread circle on top of a jelly-covered bread circle to create each sandwich.
  5. Add Pretzel Legs: Insert three pretzel sticks into each side of the sandwich so that each sandwich has six pretzel legs in total, mimicking a spider’s legs.
  6. Attach Candy Eyes: Place two candy eyes on the peanut butter side of each sandwich, pressing them gently to ensure they stick.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Arrange the finished sandwiches on a festive platter and serve at Halloween parties or as a fun lunchbox surprise.

Notes

  • Use gluten-free bread and pretzel sticks for a gluten-free version.
  • For nut allergies, substitute peanut butter with sunflower seed butter.
  • Small chocolate chips can be used instead of candy eyes for a similar effect.
  • These sandwiches are best enjoyed fresh to keep the pretzels crunchy.
  • To make the sandwiches extra festive, add a light dusting of powdered sugar for a spider web effect.
