Ingredients

Scale

Steak & Seasonings

  • 1 lb sirloin steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Pasta & Sauce

  • 1 lb cheese-filled tortellini
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

Garnish

  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat the skillet: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  2. Cook the steak: Add the thinly sliced sirloin steak to the skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, until browned and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Sauté the garlic: Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
  4. Set steak aside: Remove the cooked steak from the skillet and set it aside on a plate.
  5. Cook tortellini: In the same skillet, cook the cheese-filled tortellini according to the package instructions until al dente.
  6. Drain and return tortellini: Drain the cooked tortellini well and return it to the skillet.
  7. Make the sauce: Pour in the heavy cream and add grated parmesan cheese, black pepper, salt, and optional red pepper flakes. Stir continuously until the cheese melts and the sauce thickens slightly.
  8. Combine steak with pasta: Add the cooked steak back to the skillet and mix well, ensuring everything is evenly coated in the creamy sauce.
  9. Garnish and serve: Sprinkle freshly chopped parsley over the top and serve the skillet hot for a delicious meal.

Notes

  • Use fresh tortellini if possible for the best texture and flavor.
  • Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes based on your preferred spice level.
  • This dish pairs wonderfully with a side of garlic bread for a complete meal.
  • For a lighter option, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half but expect a slightly thinner sauce.
  • Let the steak rest briefly after cooking to keep it tender before mixing with the sauce.
