Sandwich
- 1 loaf French bread
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 6 chicken tenders (hot or cold)
- 1½ cups shredded lettuce
- 3 slices provolone cheese
- ½ tomato (sliced)
- ½ teaspoon oregano
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- Prepare the Bread: Cut the French bread loaf in half horizontally. Remove the fluffy middle part of the loaf to create space for the fillings. Spread mayonnaise evenly over the inside top and bottom halves of the bread.
- Assemble the Filling: Chop the chicken tenders into bite-sized pieces. Pile the chopped chicken onto the bottom half of the prepared French bread. Then layer the shredded lettuce, provolone cheese slices, and sliced tomato on top of the chicken.
- Season and Serve: Sprinkle oregano, salt, and pepper over the assembled sandwich to enhance the flavor. Cut the chicken tender sub into four pieces and serve immediately while the bread is fresh and the fillings are flavorful.
Notes
- Chicken tenders can be used hot or cold depending on preference or time constraints.
- For a spicier version, consider adding a dash of hot sauce or sliced jalapeños.
- Removing the fluffy interior of the French bread prevents the sandwich from becoming soggy and allows for more fillings.
