Ingredients

Scale

Slider Sandwich

  • 12 Hawaiian rolls
  • 9 chicken tenders (cooked and prepared)
  • 6 slices Colby Jack cheese
  • 2 cups shredded lettuce
  • 2 Roma tomatoes, sliced

Honey Mustard Glaze

  • 2 tablespoons salted butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 teaspoons honey

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350˚F (175˚C) to prepare for baking the sliders.
  2. Mix Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, Dijon mustard, and honey until they are fully combined, creating a smooth honey mustard glaze.
  3. Prepare Chicken: Place the cooked chicken tenders on a cutting board and chop them into bite-sized pieces to ensure even distribution on the sliders.
  4. Assemble Sliders: Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally. Place the bottom halves in a baking dish and layer the Colby Jack cheese evenly on top. Follow by spreading the chopped chicken pieces evenly over the cheese. Then place the tops of the rolls on the assembled layers.
  5. Glaze the Tops: Using a brush, generously coat the top of the rolls with the prepared honey mustard glaze to add flavor and help them brown while baking.
  6. Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the sliders are heated through. This will also lightly toast the tops from the glaze.
  7. Add Fresh Toppings and Serve: Remove the sliders from the oven. Use a spatula to carefully lift the tops off each slider, then add shredded lettuce and tomato slices on the bottom halves. Replace the tops and serve immediately for the best freshness and taste.

Notes

  • You can prepare the chicken tenders in advance by baking or frying before chopping for assembly.
  • For a spicier glaze, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or hot sauce to the honey mustard mixture.
  • If you prefer, swap Colby Jack cheese for cheddar or mozzarella for different flavor profiles.
  • To keep sliders warm, cover with foil after baking until ready to serve.
