Butter-Toasted Ravioli is a crispy, cheesy, and flavorful appetizer or dinner dish where tender cheese ravioli are pan-toasted in a fragrant butter and garlic mixture, finished with Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley for a delightful texture and taste.

Ingredients

Scale

Ravioli

  • 1 package (12 oz) fresh or frozen cheese ravioli

Butter Mixture

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Cheese & Garnish

  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Red pepper flakes (optional, for a spicy kick)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Ravioli: If using frozen ravioli, cook them according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside. For fresh ravioli, boil in salted water for 3-4 minutes until they float, then drain.
  2. Prepare the Butter Mixture: Heat olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Once melted, add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Toast the Ravioli: Add the cooked ravioli to the skillet. Sprinkle Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper over them. Gently toss to coat in the butter mixture. Cook for 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden and crispy on both sides.
  4. Add Parmesan: Reduce heat to low. Sprinkle grated Parmesan evenly over the ravioli and add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Allow the cheese to melt and coat the ravioli, tossing gently.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat. Transfer ravioli to a serving platter, garnish with chopped parsley, and sprinkle with red pepper flakes if desired.
  6. Enjoy: Serve immediately while hot for the best taste and texture.

Notes

  • Use fresh or frozen cheese ravioli as preferred.
  • Adjust seasoning to taste, including salt, pepper, and optional red pepper flakes for heat.
  • Toast slowly to achieve a crispy, golden exterior without burning.
  • Serve immediately to maintain crispiness.
  • Pair with a light side salad or marinara sauce for dipping, if desired.
